Slimming World Cheesy Chips

This recipe is very simple and is free as long as you use the cheese as your healthy extra.

What you need-
- one or two large baking potatoes depending on how many chips you want
- frylight
- two babybels (or 3 babybel lights)

1) Put a pan of water on to boil
2) Cut your potatoes into chip shapes
3) Put your chips into the boiling water until they are relatively soft but not too soft (I overdid mine but they were still delicious)
4) leave your chips for a few minutes on some kitchen roll to dry
5) Spread your chips out on a baking tray sprayed with frylight and give them a quick spray
6) Leave them in the oven until they're crispy and look cooked (you'll know when)
7) When they're done, switch the oven onto grill and spread two grated babybels on the chips and grill for a couple of minutes
8) Place your chips into a bowl and enjoy!

I really hope you enjoy this recipe. Again, it's not very specific because it's down to personal preference and is relatively simple. I am very sure this is free but please do let me know if I'm wrong.

Also sorry for the very poor quality of photograph, I've temporarily lost my SD card for my good camera. Thanks for reading!

Slimming World Burger and chips recipe

Here is a recipe I got off the Slimming World website earlier which I made for tea for the family and it went down a treat! The best thing is, it is totally guilt free and perfect if you are on the slimming World food optimising plan.

This recipe is-
Syn Free on Extra Easy
Syn Free on Original
4 Syns on Green

What you need:

For the burgers:-
- Lean mince, less than 5% fat ( I used two packets of mince and have about 8 burgers left after feeding 5 people. I'm freezing the leftovers to use at a later date.)
- Parsley
- Barbeque seasoning (it comes in little jars next to the oregano and herbs in shops)
- A wholemeal bread bun (add 6 syns if it is not your healthy extra).

For the relish:-
- A tomato
- A pepper
- Barbeque seasoning
- Chives

For the chips:-
- About half a bag of maris piper potatoes
- Frylight

1) Firstly preheat your oven to about 240 degrees celcius. Also put a pan of water on the boil.
2) Peel your potatoes and cut into chips. I only used about half a bag for four people.
3) Put the chips in the boiling water and leave for about 5 minutes but just make the judgement of when they're ready. You just want them to be soft but not too soft.
4) While your chips are par boiling, mix the mince with the chopped parsley and a bit of the barbeque seasoning. Just use your hands and combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
5) Take about a palm-full of the mixture and flatten it into a round patty. Do this with all the mixture.
6) Drain your chips and place on a plate on some kitchen roll so they dry.
7) Take a baking tray and spray it with frylight and scatter the chips on it. Spray them with frylight then chuck it in the oven until they're golden and crispy.
8) For the relish, cut the tomato until all the juices are out and it resembles a kind of salsa. Put this in a bowl with some chopped chives and a sprinkle of barbeque seasoning and mix it.
9) When the chips are nearly ready, heat up a frying pan with some frylight and slowly fry your burger.
10) Put your burger in a wholemeal bun with some lettuce, relish and a bit of red onion (or whatever takes your fancy really) and serve with chips.

Hopefully you enjoy this recipe. Sorry if you aren't part of Slimming World and don't really know what I mean when I say 'syns' and other jargon. This is the original recipe which is slightly different to mine- http://www.slimmingworld.com/recipes/bacon-burger-with-bbq-relish.aspx. Obviously the recipe isn't very specific with measurements but I think part of the fun with cooking is just using a bit of trial and error and changing things to suit you. Enjoy, and thanks for reading!

Sticky Chicken Slimming World-friendly Salad

This is a delicious salad I made for my tea which really filled me up and tasted fantastic. it was really simple and quick using ingredients that you probably have in your cupboard anyway.

This recipe is exactly how I made it (I modified it to suit me) and serves one. You can just change it to suit you or how many people it is for. Here is the link to the original recipe http://www.slimmingworld.com/recipes/sticky-chicken.aspx

It is 5 syns on Green
         2 syns on Original
       2 syns on Extra Easy

You will need-
- A chicken fillet
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce

For the Salad-
- A handful of spinach leaves
- half a can of Sweetcorn (uncooked)
- Half a pepper
- 5 cherry tomatoes
- Chunk of cucumber

1) Cut the chicken into little chunks
2) Mix the Soy Sauce, Vinegar and Honey in a bowl and mix in the chicken fillet
3) Leave in the fridge for half an hour to let the marinade soak in
4) Heat up a frying pan with some frylight. I recommend frylight as it only has one calorie in it per spray and is very healthy
5) Put the chicken and marinade sauce in the pan and fry until chicken is cooked and has soaked up all the sauce.
6) Arrange your salad and put the chicken on top
7) Enjoy!

Hopefully you enjoy this and hopefully I will continue to post on a regular basis. Thanks for reading!
